Torque3 is a San Jose based startup creating a virtual reality, full motion simulation therapy platform for recovering stroke survivors. During my contract as their primary game developer, my roles were as follows:
Designing a forest level that teaches the mechanics of the experience while introducing periodic challenges to stimulate physical exertion and immersion.
Integrated and optimizing 3rd party assets for use in VR.
Programming gameplay interactions and debugging solutions.
Creating and implementing spacialized audio that reacts dynamically to head and simulation movement. Combined with physical wind being blown on the participant this increased the illusion of speed and enhanced the immersion.
